Over 2,000 students helped build our DIY Cardboard Community at yesterday's Maker Faire Education Day. It was great to watch kids collaborate on this project, and I was so entertained to hear the stories that developed around their creation. (At several points throughout the day there were chants of, "We must protect our town from the Viking invasion!")
Our exhibit at Maker Faire Bay Area gives kids a chance to collaborate around building their own community using cardboard. Kids show up, we provide them with the materials (duct tape, zip ties, Samurai Saws, Makedo parts, and copious amounts of cardboard), and they do all the making.
If you’re at the Faire this weekend be sure to stop by and build with us - we’ll be at station 7.
