Lately I've been so focused on finishing Facebook Memories, that I've completely abandoned my first love of art making - photography. I let exposed rolls of film from Sweden and a road trip down the California coast sit idle. Months passed, and it wasn't until the Instant Camera Walk with my pals at Photobooth that I decided to develop the film. Looking through the images, I felt so underwhelmed. Colors were off, compositions poorly framed, and most every image was overexposed. It was as if I'd forgotten a language.
In some ways it's exciting to have "failed" at this. It's not as if I don't know how to use my cameras, it's just that I've got to relearn. I've since been toting around a Minolta, making notes all along the way. I'll review my notes once I get the film back, and see where I've gone wrong. Tenacious as ever, I'm determined to relearn how to communicate with my cameras.
