I have decided to get in the habit of making art in a regimented, academic sort of way. During the course of my time with the Children’s Creativity Museum I have had the fortunate opportunity to work with some of the high school students in their C.I.T.Y. Teen Program. In talking with them about their own art practices, and the art education they receive in school, I am reminded of how necessary it is to maintain that disciplined practice; sketch everyday, figure study, still life study, etc.
This painting, Colazione, by Paolo Terdich is a beautiful reminder that painting still life can still be stimulating.
The C.I.T.Y. Teen Program is currently hosting an Applicant Open House for teens interested in getting involved with the program.
