Young Audiences Arts for Learning is the nation’s oldest arts education network. This week Young Audiences affiliates met in Baltimore for their National Conference. Currently arts education reform is catching attention at the state level, and some powerful research is being done to better evaluate the impact of the arts on education. At this year’s convention educators, artists, and scientists discussed the ways to utilize these resources to create a more sustainable system. The convention caught the attention of Baltimore’s local NPR station.
Recently I was invited by Young Audiences of Northern California to join their Auxiliary Board. I am very excited to join them in helping make the arts an essential part of young people’s education.
